Chora Church

This church was built in 534 as a monastery by St. Theodius. It was reconstructed in 14th century. But only the church section has survived and in this section dedicated to Jesus Christ the Savior.

In this museum you can see two miracles of Jesus Christ. Also you can see a lot of frescoes of Virgin Mary and Jesus Christ life story like last supper.

Chora Church originally was Byzantine monastery complex’s center. After the conquest of Constantinople this church was converted to a mosque like Hagia Sophia. And in the present day it serves as a museum.
