You will meet with your tour guide at your hotel lobby or cruise port to start your tour. Hippodrome:Ancient hippodrome that the Romans and Eastern Romans had been arranged Chariot races was one of the largest of the Roman period. Topkapi Palace:The first imperial palace of the Ottoman Empire built after the conquest of Constantinople from 1478 had been home to 24 generations of the Sultans. Hagia Sophia:The famous Hagia Sophia from 6th century used to be the patriarch church of the city. It had been the largest church in the world for over 9 centuries. And used to be the patriarch church of the Eastern Romans where Emperors held coronation ceremonies. Blue Mosque:Second largest mosque in the old city built by the order of Sultan Ahmet The 1st also known as Sultanahmetmosque which is the original name. Decorated with blue and turquoise tiles. German Fountain:Gift from German Keiser Wilhelm the 2nd to the Ottoman Sultan Abdülhamid the 2nd. Grand Bazaar:Largest historical bazaar in Istanbul from 1460. 3700 square meters 4000 shops and 61 streets located under its roof considered as the first mega mall of the world. ** Old city shore excursion ends at Grand Bazaar. You can use our private transportation to go back to the hotel. |

On your second day shore excursion you will see highlights of Istanbul like the famous sancturaries and bazaars. So you will learn not only history but also the local traditions, culture and lifestyle of the country. You will meet your tour guide at your hotel lobby or cruise port to start your tour. Suleymaniye Mosque:The biggest historical mosque in the old city built by the order of Sultan Süleyman The Magneficent from 1557. Constructed by the most famous Turkish architect Sinan. It represents the golden age of the Ottoman Empire and offers one of the best scenery from panaromic garden. Basilica Cistern:It was built in 6th century and used to keep fresh water for he city during Eastern Roman and Ottoman Empire periods. It has many columns inside like a basilica which is the reason it is called Basilica Cistern. Spice Market:It was one of the main trade centers of the old city during Ottoman times. It is located close by Bosphorus and Golden Horn. The traders used to come here when they get the city by seaways. Taksim Istiklal Street:Famous pedestrian street of Taksim surrounded by historical buildings, passages full of local shops and historical nostalgic tram. Galata Tower:Another symbol of Istanbul from 14th Century constracted by Genoesen colonists used for many different purposes over the centuries. You will see the tower from outside. ** Your Istanbul highlights shore excursions will end after you see Galata Tower and you can use our private transportation on your way back to the hotel. |
Please Note | Topkapi palace will be closed on Tuesdays. Audio guides available on demand otherwise tour guide will do the presentation. Grand Bazaar will be closed on Sundays. The mosques has dress code so it will be beneficial to bring a scarf. Remember to wear comfortable shoes. |
